For 16 years I gave up who I was, could have been in a marriage that I am realizing that took place out of the want and need to conceive. I completely lost Me. My healing suffered in the process. I am in the process of a divorce and have never felt this free before. I have friends who care and want to do nice things for me and my first thought is " what do they want in return, or I can take care of myself and don't need help." I always thought there was a reason why someone was nice to me, they wanted something. I am truly learning now, just like you said, there are really some genuine folks out there.
