Welcome

Jackieshawministries.com is a resource for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  I write about it because it is what I know.  Through a lot of work, crying, talking to friends, trying to re-learn how to be myself, I consider myself a thriver.  Life no longer hurts so much.  I wish that for every survivor of abuse.

There are so many survivors of abuse. Some were abused by a relative, a friend, a stranger, or a pastor or priest. There are so few resources that deal with healing. I write this blog to lift up my voice, and I hope to give a voice to others.  There is no shame in being abused.  You are a survivor.  If nothing else, I hope you can be proud of that.

To those of you who see this and are survivors, blessings on the journey. It is a tough road as you know, but you aren’t alone. I am a survivor of sexual abuse. I don’t have all the answers, but I want you to know you are not the only one.

If you are a pastor or spiritual leader, don’t dismiss the survivors in your congregation. You may not know them, but they are there and many of them are hurting. The church has something to offer if we are willing to listen to and sit with those in deep pain.

Please email me with your thoughts, suggestions and struggles. You aren’t alone.
